New House

Well, this has been one excellent month.

As some of you know the wife and I have been renting our flat for the last year, and we have decided to buy our first house.

We are currently living in Pretoria,but since Cindy and Me are working from home we decided we are going to move back to Krugersdorp to be close to family and friends.

We started off by going each Saturday and look at houses. The first two weeks were the worst, nothing worthwhile, and also the shock(again) of the prices the places go for.

We at last found a place in a reasonable area, 5 bedroom house, now me and Cindy can each have our own offices, and even let some of the remote working guys come work at our house if necesary.

We believe it is a must to get such an investment on your name, and we are very excited. The past week we almost bought an apartment as a second investment but stopped ourselves before taking this step, we first need to get used to paying the house.

Another happening in my life is that I maybe getting a new Ford Explorer soon, either by going over to Dallas,Texas and importing or buying one local, got a few options to choose from.

Well, as everybody has probably read, I initially wanted to buy myself a Citroen C2, which is a very nice little car.

Lately I've had some cravings for 4x4 vehicles and especially american 4x4s.

One model I fancy is the 1993 and 1994 Ford Explorer, tonight I'll be going to view a guy that wants to sell his 1993 Ford Explorer 4.0 V6 .. Can't wait !

My cousing has a small plane that he hires out to young students and trainers for training and for personal flights.

Yesterday morning a student went for a first solo flight.

Well, D-day came ....

Wow, 111.9 kg, thats flippen cool, so that means I've lost 3/4 kg's in two weeks.

Now the most important is to keep it going.

At least now I'm used to eating All Bran Flakes ;-)

Healthy Habits

Cindy and me have been on a sort-of-a-diet for the last 8 days.

We decided to go on this cause both me and Cindy just sit at home the whole day and work, and we do not get out very much.

We do have a body ball we play with now and again, BUT that is not enough.

We started with the Kelloggs Special K and All Bran eating plan.

We are now eating cereal 2 times a day. Cindy eats Special K and I eat All Bran.

We currently eat cereal in the morning and in the evening, and for lunch we also eat very healthy stuff. I must say it has been quite some adjustment, but we're going stronger.

It's true, one has more energy and feel GREAT. As I said we are now on day 8, and have no need for other food (YET) ...

Not that I really wanna, but I'm posting my weight here, this was weighed on 5th January 2006 ... 115.2 kg ...

Cindy said we must weigh every 2 weeks, so we will be weighing ourselves again next week Thursday..... let's hope for the best ...

Our little child fell 3 floors

Yesterday morning, me and the wife were busy working on some projects wer were busy on, just like on a normal Saturday morning, Jinx(our cat) sitting on the little wall on the balcony like any other morning priding himself over his whole kingdom like a lion over his territory.

After about an hour of working, I got ready, grabbed my wallet to go to the store to buy some bread and milk.

Just as I opened the front door there sat our little Jinx with a bloody nose and having trouble to walk.

What happened was while we were working he probably chased a bee or bird and fell from the balcony 3 floors down, we heard nothing cause we were wearing earphones while working. He then walked up 2 stories worth of stairs to get back up to the front door.

Took him to the vet immediately, conveniently we live right next to an animal hospital, so I quickly walked next door. After taking x-rays they found that he broke both his from feet and also broke his upper palet, aah shame, poor little thing...

WOW, has it been a GREAT week, not just for all the "lekker"(enjoyable) lunches, dinners etc. but business has also been going great.

I've sold a few hostings packages at Pulse Hostings, which makes me smile just even wider cause it is some christmas bonus for me.

So we went to my father-in-laws' Christmas dinner for his team(Panic Attack).
Was quite good, except that my wifes' mother(mothin-in-law) took their own alcohol and then we had to pay a cork fee to the restaurant, which came out of me and my wifes' pockets as my mother-in-law and her boyfriend left cause they didn't want to pay it, fair is fair I say.

Year end functions

Well, today is going to be a bit hectic, I'll be working to about 12h where I must take the wife go Monte Casino where she has a year-end function(to which I cannot go).

So I'll be hanging around there for a few hours, thought maybe I must go watch a movie or something.

Anyways, when we are finished there, we are off to Krugersdorp where we have a year-end function with the crew of the Panic Attack Crew which races Funny Cars mainly at Tarlton International Raceway.

After that we are heading to my parents home also in Krugersdorp, where we will then go to my wife's grandmother where we will sleep the night and then eat the next morning which usually is a mother of a breakfast.

New car .. maybe

Me and Cindy took off yesterday afternoon from work and went shopping and was just being lazy.

As we drove past all the new car shops in Menlyn(Pretoria,South Africa) I got a craving to go test drive a few cars.

Okay, so I just test drove 2 cars, a VW Polo and a Citroen C2.

Of the two I found the Citroen C2 the most enjoyable and the shape just stuck on me.

I just took it for a quick spin around the motorcity. The car I drove was the C2 VTS(1600) which was quite nice, not as much power as I expected, as I'm used to my 1300 Tazz, but some other nice features and everything very nicely packaged for a very nice price.

The C2 comes standard with Electric Windows, Frontloader CD, 4 airbags, 16" alloys, Central locking(only has 2 doors) and some other nice-to-haves.

Can't get some rest

So I've changed jobs half of last month, and now doing contract work for another company, which has been the best move that I've ever made, and now I'm getting paid what I'm really worth, or let's say getting paid for what you really do.

Since I've left my job and started with the new stuff there was no time to just sit around, it is now just work-work-work while the rest of the poeple are getting in a christmas fever, I am thinking about my next deadline.

Anyways, went to visit the family in Krugersdorp this weekend, and while at it went to check out some houses/townhouses/clusters blabla to check if me and the wife can buy some place near the parents soon, BUT what I shock it has been, house prices are rediculous.

As far as I think I get a very reasonable salary, but for me and the wife to buy a house of R500 K or R600 K you must earn somewhere around R20 000 per month together, which is totally rediculous.

Only time will tell what will happen next here.

Same-Sex marriages now legal

Yesterday a ruling was made by the Constitutional Court that Same-Sex marriages will be legal from now on.

Well, I guess this way everybody can be happy.

Talked to one of my gay friends, and they are estatic, congratulations to them.

Working from home

Well, this is my second day at work, and let me tell ya, what a difference, I went to take a shower 12h30 PM ...

It takes some getting use to and also to condition yourself to go and sit to work, and not to go watch the cool new DVD that you bought or maybe play the cool new game.

My wife is also working from home ;-) , so that is also something new to get used to for her, as she is used to work alone.

We both are now sitting in the same study, but soon I'll be moving to another room as I get too many telephone calls during the day, and that is disstracting to her, but we'll see.

Career change

As a result of certain things coming my way I have decided to pack my bags and leave the company I've been working for the last year and a half.(NetCB Solutions).

I've decided to start my own company, called PulseBiz Campaign Management.

Okay, I still do not have a website, but will have one real soon .... !!! My main business will be SMS campaigns for companies, like R1,R5 etc sms and logos and also bulk sending.

After this venture is up-and-running I am also looking at starting my own development house, where I will first sub contract other developers and later get my own staff working for me.

Well, thats the news from my side.

Feugo Training

For the past week I've been on a training course that is a BPM(Business Process Management) suite that is aimed at the enterprise.

The product that was featured in this training is Fuego BPM, which according to me is the "Coolest" application on the market today.

I'm currently working for NetCB Solutions which is now also the distributor of Fuego in Sub Saharan Africa.

This is actually my personal blog, so I will not hammer on the technical side of the training I received, but will just say that it really is REALLY cool !!!

On this training we had a Spanish dude, Raud Tara from Fuego, which really made the training. We teached him alot of Afrikaans, Zulu and Tswana(Languages spoken here).
Isn't it amazing how fast someone can pick up curse words from another foreign lanuage ;-) .

But anyways, thank Raul, for a really inspiring week while you were here with us from Argentina.

I used to host my blog on my own domain, but due to regular testing new development strategies etc, I am now moving over to blogger.com, as this is a very stable and reliable blogging site.
